Appeals

The owner or occupant of a building or structure or any directly aggrieved person may appeal the City of Laurel board of Appeals from a final decision of the Director of the Department of Economic and Community Development, their designee, the Planning Commission or any office or body where it is alleged by the appellants that there is an error in any refusal of building, use or occupancy permits or in any other order, requirement, decision, or determination in the administration of the Code or Subdivision regulations.

Notice of such appeal shall be in writing and filed within thirty days after the decision is rendered denying the building use or occupancy permit or other order. Appeals hereunder shall be on forms provided by the Department, who will notify the appellant in writing of the time and place set for the public hearing.

  • Planning Commission Decision: $750
  • Administrative Decision (Residential): $325
  • Administrative Decision (Commercial): $750
  • Re-establishment of Non-Conforming Use: $725
